HIVE CLOSURE

COMMUNITY MESSAGING - SNAPCHAT ADVICE

Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Teams within North Yorkshire Police would like to make parents aware of the following update that has released on snapchat.
If your children have the Snapchat app and GPS on their phone please take a look at this.

It seems with the new update there is a new feature on Snapchat. When you open the app place two fingers on the screen and drag them together 'pinch' just like when zooming out on an interactive map. This will then open the new feature. It shows your location with near exact accuracy and can be only a couple of meters wrong. This means people can see exactly where you are at any time.

A CAREER IN THE CIVIL NUCLEAR CONSTABULARY

With over 1000 highly trained Police Officers and Police Staff, the CNC is a specialist armed police service dedicated to protecting the civil nuclear industry. CNC protects 14 civil nuclear sites across England, Scotland and Wales, safeguard nuclear material in transit and plays a key role in national security.

The civil nuclear industry includes nuclear research and provides nuclear energy to millions of people. To protect such an important commodity, as well as the public, the Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) and Civil Nuclear Police Authority (CNPA) were established on 1 April 2005.
The CNPA is CNC's governing authority and reports into the Department of Energy and Climate Change. It is their job to ensure that we police effectively and efficiently while being responsive to the needs and priorities of the stakeholders we serve.

A range of career opportunities exist for Police Officers in a variety of different teams, based at nuclear sites across Scotland, England and Wales. Whether you are an experienced Police Officer or a new recruit, you will be offered an opportunity that both tests your existing skills and enables you to develop new ones.

As well as opportunities at operational units at a number of nuclear sites, there are a number of specialist teams that require specific expertise. Once you have successfully completed your probationary training, you could apply to join one of these teams, such as dog handling, marine escorts, armed response and special branch.

CNC's Police Staff are the people who operate, develop and manage all our support teams. From ensuring that the Constabulary runs smoothly and that an effective IT systems is in place, to managing our finances and recruiting and developing staff, they provide the vital support that enables the operational units to fulfil their duties.
